I was diagnosed with Depression about 2 1/2 years ago. I was put on Zoloft, starting at 20 mg but slowly went up to 100mg. In January I switched to Prozac. Its not working. I'm seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow. Any ideas of stronger meds?
Most of the newer ones are good. There have been quite a few came out since zoloft and prozac. I've been on effexor for more then 10 yrs.
Lithium is good to add to antidepressants to make them more effective. Also, Abilify is suppose to be very effective, also. If the SSRI antidepressants aren't working, ask your dr. about the tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine or Elavil. I hope you feel better soon!
Effexor and Lamictal are working great for me. Abilify was a nightmare.
