I was on the depo from age 14 to 18. I got on it because my periods lasted so long and I wanted to see if it would help me. I had no problems on the depo, and I also had no periods. However, I heard that it isn't suggested to be on it for longer than 3 years so I stopped getting it. Now I'm 19, and back in February I miscarried. Ever since then I haven't been able to get pregnant, my periods are always 1-2 weeks late now, and I'm freaking out. The doc said my periods should've been normal after about a month from my miscarriage but it has been 8 months and I'm still having the same problems. I show signs of infertility or hormone deficiency so I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problems?
Some women need help getting their periods back to a regular basis after Depo Provera, which sounds like what you're experiencing. I had the same issue.
I'm not aware of it causing problems with pregnancies once you've stopped taking it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't for some people.
Rather than using more drugs from the doctor, you can give agnus castus a try. It's a natural remedy, & sorted me out where doctors had failed.
You can't take it if you're using hormonal birth control, but if you're not then it's worth giving a try. It works to balance your hormones again, & should get you back to a regular monthly cycle within 2/3 months of using it. You can then reduce the dose & see how you get on. If you still need the higher dose, then just increase it again.
It has no side effects, as long as you're not using hormonal birth control. As hormonal birth control works to create an imbalance in your hormones, it would do the opposite of what agnus castus is trying to do, & you could end up pregnant.
I use either the A. Vogel brand, or more recently, the organic Mountain Fresh Health Foods brand. You can get them both on Amazon, or online health stores. The latter tastes better.
They are both tinctures (liquids) that you put into a small amount of water a couple of times per day. I've found these brands work the best. I'm sure there are other good ones out there.
Just ask if you want to know anything else about it. It really helps with PMS, too! I still use it. My periods become irregular, otherwise. It's due to your liver. AC supports your liver properly.
I just wish I'd known about it before the doctors started trying more drugs & eventually operated several times. Would have saved me a lot of trouble!
