I've been in the depo shot for 5 months almost and I've been bleeding most of the time so I switched back to the pill. I'm not due for another shot for more then a month and I started my pill a week ago can I get pregnant when I'm on both? I don't know if the pill will mess with the shot, and I also need to know how long it will take for the pill to fully work by time I skip my next shot
Your pill will be working fully before your next shot is due, based on the information you have given us. However, stopping Depo can be a very tricky thing. The bleeding between shots you get on Depo tends to stop after 2 or 3 shots, although it can crop up further down the line, & there are ways to stop that.
However, when you come to stop Depo, it can really mess with your periods, & cause irregular spotting or bleeding (sometimes heavy) which can last for months. Other women find that they don't get any bleeding whatsoever, for months.
If you then put even more hormone into your body, then it can make the bleeding or lack of bleeding even more unpredictable. Your body has to adapt to the new levels of hormone in it, & this can take time.
Is the new Pill artificial oestrogen, progesterone, or both?
