It means you wont be covered against pregnancy after the date the 1st one expired, & you will need to wait 7 days after you get the next shot, before you are covered against pregnancy.
Do not rely on getting the next one when you are bleeding, & assume you are covered immediately, as it will not be a true period. You will need to wait the 7 days, regardless (or use a barrier method of contraception, too).
You may also get hormonal bleeding, because of the falling level of artificial hormone, as the Depo leaves your body.
