Shot and had unprotected sex could I have gotten pregnant even though I don't have a period
Yes, your period doesnt determine fertility. If you ovulate, you can get pregnant. Ovulation can occur without having a period and your period can occur without ovulation. All a "period" is is your uterus sloughing off unneeded uterine lining. In a normal scenario, a woman releases an egg from the ovaries, the egg travels down the fallopian tubes, meanwhile, since the last period, the uterus is building a nice plushy bloody lining to prepare for a fertilized egg. The egg, if not fertilized, passes through, then the uterus sheds the unneeded lining. This we see as our "period". If the egg is fertilized, the embryo buries itself into this lining to grow until the placenta has formed and the pregnancy continues. So menstruation or your "period" doesnt determine fertility. It is ovulation that is essential for pregnancy to occur. Depo works mainly to cease ovulation. If you are late for a shot, there is a possibility of ovulating and you could become pregnant never seeing a "period". One must always consider that you are fertile if you are late getting your injection.
