I started the shot a week before I was supposed to get my period. I never got my period until about 2 weeks into the shot. I've been bleeding now for 18 days. Is it likely it will stop soon? Also will it regulate if I get the second shot on time so that the hormones set in?

sorry for the intense details but for a day the blood was brown almost like it was going to stop and it actually pretty much had. but now its back a full red color so does this mean it's going to take even longer to stop ?
The irregular bleeding can last until you've had 2 or 3 shots. Everyone is different, so it's hard to be exact.
Once you're body has got used to the shot, your periods normally stop all together.
If you stop getting Depo Provera shots, it can lead to more irregular bleeding & messed up cycles. That, & your fertility, can take up to 18 months to return to normal.
The blood colours you mention are normal.
