I've currently been on depo for about a year and a half. Recently I've ran into a very large handful of women who have said that being on depo has caused them much stress in conception, it has caused cysts, thickened endometrial lining, complete loss of ovulation, you name it. I'm only 18 so kids will not be in the picture for quite some time but if depo is as bad as these people have claimed I want off now!!! Has anyone else experienced the likes of this, does anyone know if these are likely depo related? And last but not least is there a birth control that is just as effective but better for my body that I can replace it with?
I was on depo for 5 years just recently got off. I recently learned that depo is suppose to be short term (2 years recommending.) I also have been hearing about the fertility issues I don't plan on having kids in the next two years but I got off for bone concerns and for future fertility. I would reccomend nuvaring. Low hormone. Monthly can have regular periods and if you want to have a baby it should only take a couple months to conceive depo I've heard it's typically two years but I have read that some people never do. :(
