Hi, I am 21 and had the depot shot for just 6 months and my last one ran out on Jan 2nd 2012. My periods returned to normal very quickly and me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant for over 2yrs. I'm not having much luck and keep facing heart ache each month I've tried ovulation kits and taking folic acid but to no joy. Could anyone please advise x
If it has been over a year of trying to get pregnant with no luck then you should see a gynecologist first and then possibly a fertility specialist. It may be a simple matter of getting your hormones back on track which they can check and give medications for. If that is not it then you will have to see a specialist. It could also be a low sperm count on your partners half and that is something they can check. Most women who try after Depo are able to get pregnant by the 1 yr mark, a few take 18 mos so if it has been two years and no luck, it is time to seek help.
