I just received this medicine today to treat headaches/migraines. I've been reading through the reviews and I'm concerned with the side effects of hair loss and weight gain. I wanted to talk to some people about their experiences with this medicine and if they think the pros outweigh the cons.
Everyone will give you a different experience because that's how it is with meds. You can count on drowsiness (until you adapt to it, 2-3 weeks or less) and if you do not make the necessary dietary adjustments, weight gain is a possibility but easily curbed. Here is solid stuff to consider from our site, as it's not subjective, hope it helps:

I stopped taking Depakote as I have bad ocd and insomnia. It seemed to cause daytime drowsiness but also insomnia. Strange medication. I currently take Trazodone extended release, Klonopin and Ambien. Trazodone E. R. Is called Oleptro and will not cause daytime drowsiness and is a powerful anti anxiety medication.
