Added 29 Jun 2014:
our lab "koy" is always looking for food and will eat just about anything we have to be careful when out walking as I said before he has lost so much weight but is still a lively and happy dog,but with losing so much weight will his organs start to fail he also drinks loads of water, but the vet who did his bloods hasn't said anything about diabetes.any more advice please
Hi, Mel! As kaismama says, Denamarin might be used in any illness that might affect the liver. If bloodwork was done and revealed abnormal levels it would be indicative of some form of liver disease, it is also used when exposure to certain toxins is suspected.
As you now, the liver is responsible for filtering toxins from our system so Denamarin might be prescribed any time an animal is ill just to protect the liver and maintain good function.
I'm sorry I cant help any more than that without a history and diagnosis.
Best of luck with your pooch! WCV
