my mother has been suffering with depression all her life, is on 40 mg of cymbalta. my dad just passed away two months ago. Her immediate memory is awful and she is extremely depressed. the psychiatrist suggested changing cymbalta to 30 mg and 25 mg. of seriquil. Reading about seriquil it says not to use in psychitoc conditions related to dementia. she does not suffer from psychotic dementia. any suggestions??? by the way she is in a great nursing home but they will not do anything without my approval.
My mother has suffered from depression since she had me at 32. She's 82 now and also in a Nursing home. My mother has dementia and is on Seroquel to stop her outburst and demending requests. Her nursing home does request my permission and my sister's when having to making changes for her. The nursing home should have someone on the list to make changes for her if she cannot do it for herself! Legally I would look into that so she is well taken care of.
