... diagnosed, spent 4 days in the hospital (my first stay ever) I'm WAY beyond petrified. The clot is in my right thigh and it runs from knee to groin level. They're having a hard time getting the Warfarin level right and I'm just so scared. I don't know what to do. My lower leg is swollen 3 times it's normal size but doctors don't seem concerned about it. Please help with a little advice or even encouragement.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm only 22 wks out from my DVT diagnosis so the only words I can add is that the DVT message board has been a life saver for me so stick w these people. There's a combination of experience, knowledge and true compassion on this site that I didn't find on others. These people will help you w anything you need to know.
I too have been petrified, scared, depressed, like never before. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Almost at my 6 month point, a recent ultrasound showed the clot has resolved quite a bit. Still there but much smaller. The ER Dr who 1st treated me told me "this is not a quick fix." Boy was she right on. So hang in there. This too shall pass. As the caring people here have told me, there is life after clotting.
I'm here anytime you need an ear.
I hope this message gets to the eyes of the person (s) who need it.
I'm not even sure I post and/or respond in all the right places as I'm on mobile.

Also, I too felt the drs seemed so nonchalant about things. I'm not sure what that's about but I've been (as you say).petrified and they act like it's just run of the mill. It sure seems to me that clotting hasn't gotten enough attention but that might be changing. Just an observation.
