In deep vein thrombosis, why are anticoagulants used instead of antiplatelets?

Antiplatelet drugs only supress platelet formation, they dont do anything for platelets already there. Anticoagulents will help to dissolve the clots that are already there and keep new platelets from sticking together. free discount card
