My right arm and shoulder have so much nerve pain that it hurts to use the arm. There's pain when I lift it and when I hold things like 20 oz. bottles of liquid or bottles of detergent. What can I do to ease my pain?
Hi I too have very severe nerve pain on the left side of my body. My left arm would hurt so severely that I could not raise it for fear of current running through it. I did go to the dr and found out that I have nerve impingement in my neck. I am scheduled for neck surgery the end of this month.
By any chance is this a repetitive arm movement disorder? Something you repeat over and over? Tennis elbow is not just for tennis players. It is the nerve where our funny bone is. Not very funny when it is bumped, right? Either way, the gabapentin makes me go to zombie land as well. It is a tough choice, I know. Hopefully they can get to the source of your problem and find some relief. Before a surgery, unless there is something needing immediate fixing, they will continue to work with you with PT muscle strengthening or massages. But, as the old joke goes, if it hurts, stop doing that! Sorry, I have an odd sense of humor. In another way I am saying that you will find a way to adapt your movements until the cause is corrected. I assume you have tried all the usual, like ice, heat, massage, and so on. Hopefully the scans will give you a chance to determine what is really happening. Good luck to you. Karen
