i have been doing percs vics oxys or whatever i can find for about the last 5 years. most times as little as 20 or 30mg to as much as 160 when on a roll . i recently tapered down to the lower range for a couple weeks followed by 10 days of 4mg suboxone. its now day 5 without anything and i feel lousy. this is my 3rd attempt in the last 3 years. never making it past 6 or 7 days. any ideas. should i try subs at a lower dose then try again, ..
You shouldn't use Sub unless you want to be on it a long time. It takes forever to get out of you. Let's hope Sub hasn't changed you yet. Usually 10 days of a living hell and then things start to get better. You have 5 days to go. Lock yourself up. If you do any opiates at all, you start at day 1 again. 5 days to go and the addiction is broken.
Dear Rollercoaster... there are a couple of things that I want to add. The little bit of suboxone that you need to help is only probably 1 or 2 mg max.
Sorry I have to disagree with u Thor but low dose suboxone when taken for a short period of time can successfully be tapered if done slowly. It has been done successfully by many people people here.
One thing I did not hear Roolercoaster were the other things you have done to help you with your addiction. Sure, you COULD be free and clear in 5 more days but I don't think so... I had WD symptoms for 8 weeks when I tapered too quickly and then went cold turkey... and then the cravings were still there. Suboxone helps with the cravings... it actually gets rid of them. Let your body and brain adjust and heal off the opiates. To also be successful on being clean off opiates you need to be involved in some type of addictions counseling and a support group revolving around the twelve step principles. This is the best way to keep yourself off of the operates for good. Try some of these things along with suboxone helping to heal your brain and maybe, You will achieve success.
I will keep u n my prayers that you are successful this time.
