I am 32 and never suffered from anxiety. Then out of the blue I suffered a massive panic attack I thought I was dying. After a couple of week I had another. I felt I couldn't breathe all the time. I went to my gp who said it was acid reflux and gave me medication for it. Since then everytime I feel the acid reflux I start to get anxiety. The doctor put me on sertraline 50mg 1 a day. I am on day 3 and feel awful bad sickness crying alot and just feeling myself is this normal?
It usually takes a couple of weeks to adjust to the medication. The nausea is fairly common and will subside. The crying, if it does not get better, needs to be addressed by the doctor. If the side effects become unbearable, you could ask the doctor to titrate you up slower by starting on 25mgs for a couple of weeks and then increase to the 50mgs.
Afraid so like the last comment said its takes a while but if it doesn't improve in a couple of weeks call back and see if they can up the dose on it. 50 is for starters depending how bad you have had it I've been up to 200mg and it did work for me. Your 32 but I'm sure your still active so watch your climaxing if it gets really hard to or you just can't at all it's a side effect. Just go to your doctor as soon as possible it won't hurt your sperm or anything you just can't climax so watch out for that
