My daughter in law has implanon in her arm after 3 years which was this June she went to the doctor to get it removed the doctor said there was still medicine in it and send her back home she went back in July the doctor said it's in to deep and send her to a specialist he also said it's in to deep and did not remove it and told her she can keep in there for the rest of her life and put a new implant in her other arm . My daughter in law experiences from time to time pain in her arm where the old implant was left in . Is that even safe or is that medical neglect ?
The sort of same thing happened to me. Id say its medical neglect. I just got mine removed on Monday and they took 20 minutes trying to dig it out. My doctor told me they stopped making implanon because it was getting inserted too deep. They only make nexplanon now because its inserted on the verge of the skin instead.
