For the past month, I have been getting a dark red spot on the end of my tongue that will last for a day or less and then disappear. It sometimes reappears the next day or maybe after two days, and it will appear on a different spot but always on the tip of my tongue. The pain feels like a tiny cut, so its a small but annoying pain. Ive visited my local GP but ive been told its normal and shouldnt worry about it. I dont know if some sort of food is causing it because there has been no change in my diet or lifestyle in the past months. I would like to know if theres any way to reduce the chances of it constantly reappearing as it is very disturbing to have to live with everyday. And is it normal to have it for this long? I also dont know what specialist I should go see, considering my GP seem to be not giving it any importance
Hi Mel, It sounds like you have a microscopic chip in one of your teeth. The constant tongue action on a sharp point by you being aware of it is likely the aggravating factor.
