Hello Donna and welcome to DC. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. Is your Dad comfortable? You are asking a question about his time left on earth. I will say to you... long enough for the two of you to spend quality time together. Don't leave anything unsaid yet use your time in a way that brings you both close, peace and closure.
I will say when my mother passed, there were so many unresolved issues. It was heartbreaking not to have that sense of closure or forgiveness. I sat with that for many, many years. My father is a different matter - we have closure. He is a good man; no cross words have ever been said between us.
So, if there is anything you have been meaning to do... now is the time to do it or say it.
