... failure and seizures. I can't help but wonder if this is not the right drug for her to be on with her other complications. Are there any other drugs to increase appetite in the elderly? She is not underweight - 140 for 5'4". My father in law doesnt cook well and he asks her if she wants something. With dementia, she says no. Help!
As to the drug issues, I can only reccommend asking a physian(one other than the perscriber). As to the food issue, I strongly reccommend "Meals on Wheels." The food is a well balanced diet, can be delivered on a daily basis or just a few times a week as needed, is no more expensive than if they are buying grocerys themselves and if needed the delivery person can usually sick around long enough to make sure the food is being eaten.
