Can cymbalta stop working over time?

You can, over time, develop a tolerance. It's there and it's working, you're just used to it. If you were to stop you would really know that's it was still there, as withdrawals are horrid and long if the cessation is abrupt.

Be careful if you increase to do so in small increments.

Quite simply, yes. You may need an adjustment in dosage or to try a different antidepressant.

Cymbalta stopped working for me for nerve pain that I have due to fibromyalgia. I was on Cymbalta for several years but have since been slowly weaned off it. Good luck.
