Cymbalta is help to social anxiety? Any good experince??
Cymbalta is appropriate for some people. Unfortunately, finding the right medication for anxiety when using the antidepressants is abit of a trial and error ordeal. Well worth the effort when the correct one for you is found. I took Cymbalta for years with success. Recently changed to Pristiq, but I also suffer from depression. See it really depends on all of your symptoms to help choose the correct medication.
Hello itsik12. I agree with Laurie. A good therapist will point out that depression is the underlying cause of anxiety. So this medication is a good starting point for you. It takes a while to work and once you realize you are feeling happier more and anxious less, you are on the right path. At least a month although you may feel a slight change after a couple weeks. If you have strange side effects, let the doctor know. The listed side effects are common and generally temporary as you adjust to the medication.
As I was telling another writer about anxiety, it is essential to work with a therapist who specializes in anxiety. Your doctor ought to recommend one for you. Throwing medication at a problem helps to a point, we do the work once we feel better. Many people are finding that they can get off medication or have reduced medications once they learn what they need. Good luck to you. You will be surprised how many people take antidepressants. You are never alone. Write anytime. Karen
It would really depend on the source of the anxiety.
I would be going the therapist route before I took something like cymbalta.
I took cymbalta for chronic pain and it didn't work but it gave me anxiety which then got worse when I tapered off the cymbalta.
Please research cymbalta online completely before taking it. It was a horror story for me both taking it and when I had to stop taking it.
This medication was awful for me. Gave me the most weirdest feeling. thought I was losing my mind. I'm now taking Zoloft and doing much better with anxiety. The Dr.s kept telling me that it was normal to.feel like crap and it would eventually go away. I'm a busy wife and mother of 2and I don't have time to feel like I did. Hope u find a med that works well for you.
