Have irritability, dr. says I'm perimenopausal and SSRI's help, but the sexual side effects are my main concern before even starting, then reading about withdrawals gives me more concern
I took cymbalta for years for pain from my OA, but noticed the improvement in mood almost immediately. I recently stopped taking it with my doctor's help and had no problems stopping. But notice I said with my doctor's help. You will have problems if you try and do it on your own. If you're having problems with irritability it will most likely help. It is, however, a drug that must build up to therapeutic levels to be at it's most helpful so you'll have to give it a chance. Normally 6-8 weeks to work at peak performance. Hope this helps!
