I was put on low dose cymbalta for extreme pain due to fybro but noticed last 2 or 3 days I feel like I'm walking on nails it hurts to move and walk. I've been on it about week. I'm even afraid stand up cause pain is so bad in my feet scared I might fall and break something. Anyone else have this issue or am I just broken?
Hi Musicwriter4life. I started taking 60 mg of Cymbalta over 10 years ago for chronic nerve pain. I started getting nauseous, anxious and depressed. I was also weak and I experienced confusion. Then I started gaining weight and became so tired I slept all the time. My nerve pain was getting worse and I started getting neck and back pain. I started getting pins and needles in my hands and feet. My neurologist told me I needed to have neck surgery or I would eventually lose the use of my arms and hands. I was so scared that I chose to have the surgery. A few years ago I started doing research on all the problems I was having and Cymbalta came up. Many people were having many horrible side effects from this medication; including the pins and needles in their hands and feet. I was so angry realizing that I probably didn’t even need the surgery that I had. During the years that I was on Cymbalta I had multiple falls. I finally made a decision to stop taking it. Well that’s another nightmare altogether! Cymbalta needs to be tapered off very slow. I started my taper around June 2017 and I’m down to 6.5 mg. It has been very hard road for me but I would do it again just to get this medication out of my brain, body and my life. I have lost over 10 years of my life but I will be completely off Cymbalta this year and I will work at getting my life back. I have missed so much time with my children and grandchildren it makes me sad. I have a lot of time to make up and I will do it. You can research Cymbalta and medications like it and find out that thousands of people all over the world are having trouble with it and having trouble getting off it. Most doctors have no idea how dangerous these medications are and they have no clue how to get off them. Please do all the research you can before continuing Cymbalta. Take care and I wish you the best. Cindy
