I'm on Cymbalta for about 3 years now. I'm always tired, don't want to exercise, don't want to play sports with my children, etc. I read that chuck1957 is on Wellbutrin and venlafaxine. Can my doctor prescribe me Wellbutrin with Cymbalta? I took Wellbutrin XL 150 mg alone and had insomnia. I had to stop it altogether. I did notice more energy with Wellbutrin. I just want to be able to feel that I have energy to do the things I normally do along with getting enough sleep. I don't want to feel tired every morning. Even after 2 cups of coffee every morning, I'm always tired.

Perhaps Cymbalta is not the cause of your symptoms but the underlying depression is not being properly addressed. You could ask your doctor about alternatives or adding another medication like Abilify or Rexulti which work on their own but also booster the effects of antidepressants taken concurrently.
Best regards and hoping you feel better soon. Wildcat
I used to take Cymbalta for about 3 years until it stopped working for me... or maybe it was the generic batch that messed things up for me. Anyway, it was one of the only drugs that worked well for me. Yeah - you'll feel tired on it, but you'll probably feel more tired without anything at all. I'm guessing you sleep a lot - like 12 hours a day? Just because WB has been publicized to relieve motivation issues and give you the energy to do things doesn't mean it will for you. At first you might feel the need to sleep less and if it works for you, the mood lift will come in a few weeks. You'll also probably have a decreased appetite.
This doesn't mean you'll want to exercise, play sports, or play with your children. This should tell you that your current treatment is ineffective. Are you doing CBT (from a PhD or PsyD psychologist)? That's 60% of the whole treatment. I hope this helps.
What time of the day do you take Cymbalta? Have you tried taken at bedtime and when you wake up you'll hopefully feel rested. Mental health meds can take awhile to find the right med, combo and dosage. Response is on the individual mind. I wish you the best of luck and talk to your mental health doctor and report your symptoms. I was once on 6 different mental meds that were prescribe by my primary care doctor. Once I got into our redicalous mental health system we have. I seen the meds I was in work against each other. It's best to find a specialist. I finally got off all those meds and found the right combo with my psychiatrist help.
