Hi Jerst nice to see you again the generic Flexeril dose not work as a antidepressaint its properties are much like but swiched in the chemical balance so it just works as a muscle relaxant and is not a narcotic but because of the relaxant effect you may notice some sedation or calm effect but this does not last long and if you need a antidepressant you really need to take one flexeral may be givving you faulse feelings you felloow Tech..Chuck1957
Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) was developed in the 1950's as a tricyclic antidepressant. It shares the precautions and contraindications as most other antidepressant.
I was furious to read some posts I stumbled upon here from people stating that Flexeril is not an antidepressant and has no antidepressant properties. That is the only reason I created an account here and add this post.
This and every other question/answer forum are dominated by people who answer questions things the know little or nothing about. But here, misinformation can cause serious complications and fatalities for readers.
