Worried about MRI and need to know if cyclobenzaprine will help me relax, if not what's recommended
Its a muscle relaxer. You need something like valium. I refused to have an mri until I could get into the place that had an open mri. Be sure they give you ear plugs and the head set, the noise is incredible too.
I'm not sure why you'd want to, if you have claustrophobia then your doc needs to know and there is no better reason to get an anti-anxiety med for this procedure. That's what their there for so there should be no reason to get the run-around. KM would probably know but you wouldn't want to interfere with whatever it is they need to look at.
All my best to you! My mom has it so extreme she gets panicked if she has to wear boots, too constructive it seems.
Sometimes the tech that does the MRI can order an IV of a mixture of meds to help relax you. Call them to see if they do that, if they don't then ask your doctor for valium for the procedure. Good luck!
