For about 8 years now I have been having this pressure build up in my chest and lungs where I have to yawn really deep to relieve it or get a satisfying breath. But I have to do it like every 30 seconds and it lasts for hours until I fall asleep. It's worse at night or when lying down. I never knew what to call it, but after researching it I found it's called Air Hunger or dyspnea. No doctor has helped me, saying it's just anxiety but anxiety medicines do nothing for it. There has to be something I can do or take to make this go away. I hate feeling like I'm suffocating.
It seems, generally, to be a symptom of an underlying condition, some serious, others not so much. Obesity is a common cause but conditions have to be eliminated one by one. I can't post links to external sites but there are many third party sites that you might find helpful if you just google 'excessive yawning'.
