I've been taking percs for about 6 months. I'm up to about 40-60 mg a day. I have 7 pills left and I cut them all in half. I am going CT today but I cannot take time off from work.(today is my only day off) It is my hope that I can work through WD. I would only take one of the halves if I was at work and the aches and pains of WD become too much... and I would only take one 6 - 12 hours apart. But ONLY when absolutely needed to get through my work day. I'm on my feet all day and my shifts are long. Would taking these small doses IF necessary hinder my progress of getting off these pills?
I don't think it will hurt. In fact it might help you get through the wds if you have to be at work. The best way (IMHO) is to ween yourself down but since you only have 7 pills left you really don't have enough to do a proper taper. You might also want to Google the Thomas Recipe. It gives you a list of things that will help during CT. I wish you the very best and have faith that you can make it. Take care and let us know how it goes. We are here to support you if you need it.

Sorry just seeing your question from 23 hours ago, so you are probably into withdrawals or will bbe by tomorrow if you are out of your percs. Tapeing is the best way, as my friend Terry said, but you have 14 halfs, so use them wisely my friend. You also didn't say how long you were using them. I assume you were taking 10mg? so the 5mg will help like you said when absolutely necessary ONLY! By the weekend you should be doing a bit better I would think. I wish you the best... Mary
