I'm only 16 and going to be starting college soon but worried about have to rush off to the loo! I just want to be normal and ask if anyone else suffers from having to go in the morning! I am currently taking 2g of pentasa and 100g of azathioprine a day! Can anyone relate i seem to be rather depressed and hating life at the moment?
I completely understand how you feel. It has been 10 years of living with the symptoms and was finally diagnosed 3 years ago. Managing the symptoms for your specific body is all I have found that has helped. Trial and error with your diet can help immensely! Same goes with medication as well. At one point I was on 12 different medications, including several very strong narcotics which they just kept increasing and informing me I would be on the rest of my life. I began feeling like the symptoms and medications dictated my life. As a young mom, I disagreed with that course of treatment. I researched other treatment options and a second opinion. I currently only take 3 medications, none of which are narcotic. The biggest help I have found was from a cook book I received as a Christmas present one year and it has helped more than anything else I have tried. The author's story in the beginning mimicked my own story and coming from an Italian family homemade cooking and taste are everything and it delivers on that as well. I still have good and bad days but alot less bad ones these days. Give the cook book a chance what do you have to lose if it doesnt help, dont lose hope, you still have options! "How to Cook for Crohn's and Colitis" More than 200 Healthy, Delicious Recipes the Whole Family Will Love by Brenda Roscher Foreword by James F. Marion, MD. The most helpful part is the first 24 pages which summed up 7 years of personal research and frustration perfectly. I hope it helps! P.S. If it doesnt I can at least inform you of where every bathroom in Southern New Jersey, Pennslyvania, & Delaware are!
