I have blisters on the back of my legs that are open. And hurt really bad. Oral pain meds do not work.
Your Dr could prescribe lidocaine ointment or EMLA creme
What is causing the blisters? That is important to know in order to help you. The only cream I know that contains a pain killer is by prescription only. It is Xylocaine (Lidocaine). This is usually not used over a wide-spread area. I used it to numb the skin over my life port before the nurse stuck the needle in. You need to see a doctor to get the meds you need to treat the reason for the blisters, as well as the blister pain.
Open sores can quickly lead to major infections and even amputation. Please. See a physician. You may need a wound clinic. Also, these need to be diagnosed in case it is a contact allergy like poison ivy which requires a different treatment. Lidocaine should not be put on open wounds. Having just used it for shingles, I had to wait for scanned over areas. Too much would be absorbed through the wound and toxicity can occur. You doctor can figure out your best approach. Hope this heals swiftly for you.
My son got huge blisters from the sun and pharmacist said use over the counter antibiotic cream NOT the ointment. I would show the pharmacist and ask him. If they feel you need a Dr they will tell you.
Your dr should be doing something about them. Do you know why you have them? It would effect what I tell you to do. If its venous circulation, or something else the treatment would be different.
