Or walking bent over . what does this sound like ?
Something is inflamed.
Does the pain radiate down the back or side of leg?
I don't know your age but if you are in the arthritis zone you may have lower back issues that are pinching your sciatic nerve.
An MRI would be useful to determine if it's stenosis, subluxation, etc,etc...
If you injured your back you really need to see your doctor to prevent it from becoming chronic.
Try taking NSAIDS (Aleve,Ibuprofen).
A heating pad may be soothing if it's been a few days. If it just started, try ice packs 20 min on at a time.
There are back exercises online to help stretch out your lower back so the nerve is not being pinched. The exercises are really important to maintain the flexibility. Do not "baby" it.
If it's injury related, it's a different story and you need to see the doctor sooner rather than later.
