A couple weeks ago, I was scratched by an outdoor cat. Can I get rabies from a cat scratch?

Both bites and scratches from cats carry disease (the filthy things). I'm not sure if you can get a rabies test or if you just have to take the unpleasant course of medication however. A simple bacterial infection at the scratch site is most probable (but then I live in a country where rabies does not exist due to scrupulous quarantine laws).
