Coumadin Blood testing goes from 3 to 5. Does going up mean it is thinner or thicker?

I am on Coumadin and will be for life. I have been on it for 8 years. The higher the number the thinner it is. 5 is a little too high. My INR number is kept between 3-4 because of a blood clotting disorder I have. Hope this helps you some. Feel free to ask about Coumadin anytime, I am not an expert by ant means but Coumadin is a good one for me.
