I have been taking wellbutrin for 2 months now after taking efexier. I have been doing great till about 2 weeks ago. Now im so depressed that all i want to do is cry. I had to over lap my wellbutrin because if i dont take it after breakfast and supper i get really bad heartburn. Is this making my med not do right? Do i need to go on a stronger dose? im on 300 mg a day taking 2 150 mg pills a day. Also I went to my pharmist to get my meds and the pill looked totaly differant around 3 weeks ago. Could it be a bad prescription? I just dont see how it could be doing so great and then just stop. I started taking a new prescription now cause i'm now on mail order. So i quit taking the other med and now taking the new one. Please help im misserable!!!
I am not totally clear as to what you mean when you say overlap your medication. Do you mean that you are taking every 8 or so hours apart rather than every twelve hours apart? If you are taking the sustained release formula of Wellbutrin, then you are to take it twice a day as you mentioned and preferably 12 hours apart. It doesn't matter whether you take Wellbutrin with or without food. If the heartburn is less with food, then take with food.
As far as the medication being different, there is no generics for Wellbutrin so it shouldn't change appearance from one prescription to the next. There are three different type formulas: immediate release, sustained release, and extended release. So it is possible that the pharmacy used the wrong formula when filling the prescription. If you are on 150 mg twice a day, then you are probably taking the sustained release and the prescription bottle should read Wellbutrin SR as opposed to Wellbutrin XL. Make sense?
I do hope you are feeling better now that you have received your mail order prescription and it is the correct one. If you are still feeling poorly, give your doctor a call as soon as possible.
