I had A sore on my vaginal are and was told it was due to bad bacteria in my body. I was treated with an antibiotic and it went away, now I'm being told by another Doctor that it could be herpes. Could a bacteria sore be mistaken for herpes?
Any lesion in the vaginal area could be suspected of being Herpes. The way to truly find out is to biopsy the tissue to see what it is. Herpes is a virus. It generally presents as a blister that opens into a lesion. Being that this is reoccuring, you need to have them biopsy the area to see what it is. If it is bacterial infection, they should be able to determine what organism is causing the infection and treat accordingly.
