I have taken Contrave in the past with good results and minimal side effects until my insurance stopped covering the medication and required monthly Dr. visits so I have been taking myself off of it, but would like to continue taking it. Has anyone used the Get Contrave Now online consultation and could tell me how many months of Contrave was prescribed and if there are additional online consultations required at what frequency and additional cost? Thanks!
I used it. I am 55. I started onWellbutrinin April. My doctor wouldn't put me on Contrave, yet complained about my weight. No matter what I do, weight won't come off without meds. I'm a nurse and wanted on Contrave. I got laid off in July and decided to get an associates degree and lose 40 lbs.
I stopped Wellbutrin on July 15th. I finally called Contrave a week and a half ago. I called in the morning, paid 65$ for the consult. Then the nurse connected me with the physician. He consulted with me. Then I was sent an email link and it went to the pharmacy. I paid $99 plus I paid for over night shipping. I got it last Tuesday and promptly started it.
After 3 days of blah side effects, I started feeling great! Today I start 2 a day. Reading here I don't expect it to start working immediately.
I think in a couple of weeks I reconsult and pay again.
Hope this helped!!
My insurance is high deductible and requires prior authorization for Contrave, and even then it's really expensive, so it's actually cheaper to pay the $99 through the mail order pharmacy. I did the Get Contrave Now online option and the consult (first talking to the nurse, then to the doctor) went smoothly. The doctor was very kind and non-judgmental, and I felt she was able to offer good advice on taking it and on weight loss in general. Apparently the first script lasts for around 6 weeks, and that's only if you titrate up to the full dose.
My prescription arrived today and I was surprised that there are no refills. Neither the nurse or doctor said anything about next steps during the consult, but I guess this means that I need to do another one in a month or so. I hope that if Contrave works for me, we can stretch out the interval between consults.
I just signed up today to the Get Contrave Now online consultation. I was hoping that I would get to speak to a doctor today but received a text message saying that I should make myself available by phone within the next two business days. I am a bit nervous about the wait seeing as how I've already paid for the consultation and refills for Contrave. It would be nice if they could call you within the hour of signing up. How is Contrave working for any of you? Side effects? Weight loss? Thanks in advance!
