Having difficulty breathing and chest pain even on a diuretic. What has helped you?
Welcome to the site! I have not progressed to CP yet. I have recurring bouts with pericardial effusion, but do not have scarring or chronic inflammation. I've always been treated with Mobic. A couple of times my cardiologist gave me a round of prednisone for the inflammation causing the effusion. I've only had to take a diuretic once for it. Right now, because I have another case of pericardial effusion, my cardio and PCP have been checking into the possibility of an autoimmune disease causing it. But, I believe it was caused by my chemo. My radiation was done only on my arm and leg, so it would not have caused the problem. Has your doctor ordered portable oxygen for you?
I've been fortunate to have very clear symptoms of a problem with each recurrence, so it has been treated quickly before any permanent damage is done. I hope your doctor is able to find a way to resolve your breathing and chest pain issues. I know it is uncomfortable (to say the least), and worrisome for you. Once again, welcome to DC!
