... I took miralax for several days in a row and developed these symptoms. I stopped miralax and palpitations stopped. Tried it again and they came back. have been off of it for 8 days and palpitations have stipped and BP is coming down
I came to this site with a question about the potential for the opposite challenge. I have Sjogrens, which is also called the dry disease. All mucus membranes are dry. That includes the intestinal tract. Impacted bowels is a constant possibility. Hence, I'm taking Miralax daily (Dr. Recommended). It works. However, I know I don't drink enough water, especially when I'm on my feet teaching for hours at a time. I just had a few episodes of lightheadedness, one resulting in falling, in the past few weeks. I started monitoring my blood pressure and it is very low (86/58).. When I fell, paramedics were called. They said dehydration. I suspect taking Miralax without adequate water intake, might be at the bottom of this. I do know that we all react differently to medications. I think, if I were you, I'd look for something else, rather than stress over an irregular heartbeat. For me, I'm going to set my alarm for hourly water and see if my blood pressure and lightheadedness stabilize.
