I am 25 years old and have been dealing with back pain for almost 10 years. My most recent MRI shows 9 bulging discs all at different mm's ranging from 2mm to 5mm some causing narrowing and nerve pressure. I get spasms and tingling in my legs more often than not. I have recently gone to see a spinal surgeon who is suggesting a spinal fusion at L4-L5 L5-S1 from the front. I am terrified. I would like to know what your experiences were like and what if any relief you have gotten.
No way, fusions are archaic and you are young enough for more reasonable non-surgical options. A surgeon is going to recommend surgery, check out alternatives in your area, non-surgical. Forget the fusion and the surgery, even more so because they're only bulging, not herniated and even then I would give the same feedback. Hope ti helps.
