If you add or subtract a few ions you can come up with something chemically similar. I don't know in what context he was talking. Both can be used for recreational purposes. I don't know what else he could mean.

There is... and there isn't.
Morphine is an opiate.
Dextromethorphan is an analog of an opiate ( meaning that it was engineered from an opiate). It does it have any of the usual opiate characterictics, such as anesthesia, sedation or physical withdrawal.
