The planned parenthood website said that there's no specific date as to when to start oral birth control but the packet said to start either on the first day of your period or the first Sunday after your period. I started my period on a Sunday but didn't start taking it till the following Sunday. Did I do this wrong?

Yes, if you start on sunday you start the pills on sunday. The only thing is that you may have some spotting because you'll be a little out of whack with your normal schedule. You won't get your period until you get to the week of inactive pills. This will be a little later then you would have gotten it without the pill.
