Some studies say you should drink while taking while others say you should obtain from alcohol when taking. Today was my first day, I didn't drink and don't plan on it tomorrow either. I am just looking to stop the craving and hope this medication is right for me.
Once you get used to Naltrexone, I think you will find 8 hours of feeling freezing and just plain average for 8 hours a day, sufficient deterrent to make you think twice before drinking. I tried to drink for three months while I was still an alcoholic. It almost counts among my top 5 miserable experiences in 50 years. I would say abstain.
Hi, you can drink while taking Naltrexone but it will lower your threshold for tolerating alcohol, you won't find drinking so pleasant and you may experience hangovers more often and more severe. I assume you are taking Naltrexone to help you to stop drinking? The effects of the medication will build the longer you are taking it...
