I had sex on Monday about a week before my period and the condom ripped although he pulled out he still finished outside on my vagina i took Plan B just to make sure but how do i know it worked? I took it about 2 hours after it happened and a few days later I started getting cramps like i was about to get my period. I finally thought I got my period today 5 days after taking the pill but after a couple hours all I had was brown discharge. Someone help me and let me know why this is happening? Could I possibly be pregnant?
There's no way of knowing if it worked.
You could be pregnant, as is always a risk with sexual intercourse, but I seriously doubt it, as long as your periods are always regular.
A woman with a regular monthly menstrual cycle is not fertile 5 days before her period. Plan B would not be required.
If, however, you do not have regular monthly periods, then Plan B would be the wrong choice of emergency contraception, in my opinion, because you will not know when you ovulate.
Plan B works by delaying your ovulation until the sperm leaves your body. If you're already ovulating, then it can't do that. You'd need one of the other methods of emergency contraception.
Some think Plan B works in other ways, but the Manufacturer does not claim that. They say it's possible, but don't say it does, as it has not been proven.
To prevent condom accidents, have an internet search on correct condom use. There are ways to stop them splitting.
Things like nipping shut a couple of cms in the end of the condom, as you role it onto the penis, making sure there's no air in it. This leaves room for him to ejaculate, & stops air being trapped, leading to splitting.
