I was put on Concerta last month. They started me out on 36mg. I feel that it helped a little bit. This month, since my last visit, the doc upped the dose from the 36mg cap in the morning to an additional 18mg cap six hours later. I have to admit that it has been helping me. I am a 33 year old male. Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks
I've been using Concerta for about five years. I'm 52. I'm taking 54 mg. per day. And, yes, I've found that the drug has been VERY helpful.
The drug has been particularly helpful in regards to my interactions with others. The best way I can describe it is that the drug gives me an extra split second to process how I deal with people. I'm not so defensive. I can engage in idle chit-chat in situations where I could never have before. I would not say that it's changed my overall personality, but it has helped me tweak it a little for the better.
Good luck to you...
Hi I agree with (((red))) my son takes it though not me. he actually asked me to keep taking it he has been on it for 5 years he is 15 now and they recenlty upped it from 36mg to 54mg like red. i didnt know it came any other way by the way, I keep my son off of it we call it a medication vacation since he is so young and mainly only needs it in major social situations like school. we tried to have him go without it cause hubby is against all meds even mine but he like i said asked for it it helps him concentrate, block out the talking meaning distractions in school with the kids talking during class,he is more friendly by meaning not so hard to talk to and get to do styuff he listens great now. i know with my med dexedrine spansule ia mm ADHD combined type i feel tons better i can get things done as of before that i would start all kinds of projects which i mean chores and not complete them drove hubby nuts and i use to save so much literature off of the computer had paper everywhere it has helped me from adult point of view organize everything even my thoughts. Hope this helped lol to u good luck janymak
