Just been prescribed concerta. Any possitive feed back anyone ?
Positive: more focused, alert, helpful, and your mind is more at ease you can sit and concentrate better without getting up to do something and not finishing what you started.
Negative: may make you stomach ache, difficulty sleeping, not much of an appetite, and rapid weight loss, some moodiness or even depression but this will subside after a while sometimes as fast as 2 weeks.
I thought you would like to know as much as possible the negative and positive outcome from taking the medication good luck your friend michelle.
A lot of the teens that live at the residential facility where I work take Concerta and respond well to it. Just remember these three things and you should do well with it: 1) It will make you feel MORE tired at the end of the day so make sure you get plenty of rest. 2) Watch your caffeine intake; remember there is caffeine in teas and sodas and chocolate-the caffeine has an adverse affect on the Concerta and it can make you more irritable and/or aggressive. 3) It will cause you to have dry mouth, so make sure you keep hard candies or gum on hand. Hope this helps.
