my wife has had her tenth back surgery and was put on duloxetine and it has been helping, but the recent increase makes it unaffordable for us.
Don't you have part d Medicare? If you google it you will find coupons that brings the price to around $35. Also there can be huge differences in med prices from pharmacy to pharmacy. The drug is a generic those usually don't have manufacturers assistance except for a few manufacturers. Do you know who makes hers?
I h ave an answer to your question. My husband and I are both disabled and in our fifties. I am on 30 prescriptions and had four back surgeries last year. We are both on Duloxetine also. That is the generic for Cymbalta and it is still expensive. I have a phone number for you for the Lily cares program that you can call and look into assistance for Cymbalta. The number is 800-545-6962 Talk to a representative and explain your situation and they should be able to tell you whether they have a program where you can get Cymbalta free or at a reduced rate. Usually they are income based program. I get my Abilify free from Bristol Myers. I know your wife is on it for pain, but does she see a psychiatrist for the counseling part of dealing with the pain? If so, she can always ask them for samples of Cymbalta also. Good Luck, let me know how you make out with Lily.
