Narcotics can make a person's bowel sluggish-that increases the chances of having diverticulitis in the first place. Little pockets in the bowel and upper bowel. The most common things to lodge in a pocket are berry seeds strawberry, raspberry, etc. Little bits of meats, nuts that aren't chewed thoroughly, etc can lode- Before MRIs, etc. They had to do exploratory surgery.
