My dad has FPP. We do not know anyone else who has this disorder so I have many more questions than can probably be asked at one time. What are the odds that I will carry this gene or pass it down? What are the symptoms besides paralysis? My dad has several other health problems, including diabetes, mood difficulties, and bone spurs. Do other people with FPP have these problems? If so, what can be done for them?
I know it is rude to answer a question with one but there are certain aspects of your question that we are trying to figure out so we can help you and your father.I believe you are in the U.K.
1.-Are you refering to "Familial periodic paralysis"? Fpp
If such where to be the case my research lead me to learn that this is a rare genetic disease. And found relevant information
I hope I am on the right path, so the information provided is helpful.
If I am not on the right path , let me know.
All the best,
