... helicobactor positive?
I haven't seen that particular combination of medicines used for Helicobacter pylori.
The link below has a few products with combinations of medicines available for this treatment.
Hello alemub, & welcome to the site. I think maybe your gastro doc is covering all basis. The amoxicillian is being used for the H pylorie, & the omprazole is used to reduce stomach acid which is probably over working itself, & if your were scoped I assume your esphogus must have had irritaion from the stomach acid as well. the metronidazole is used for this. It sound like you have a good doctor that is covereing all bases. I have too much acid as well, & have constant GERD (of I don't tke my omprazole). I also take omprozole which is a proton pump inhibititor to reduce the amount of acid in the stomach. I have tried to go with out it, & the sour stuff starts coming up into my throat every time. It sound like you may have the same problem, & it led to an ulcer also. This happens when the acid sits there for too long on an empty stomach & can eat a hole in the stomach lining, & the reflux irritates the lining of the esphogus. You should be fine, & I'll bet once the course of amoxicillian is done you will just have to stay on the omprazole. That is all I now take. Just my thoughts. The H-;ylori is a bacterial infection, but with a open wound in there & irritation, it is much easier to get so alas the antibiotic to clear that up too... Mary
